Lions 2 67-37 King's Lynn

Norwich Lions 2 were too much for a youthful King’s Lynn side, cruising to a 67-37 victory in their Norfolk Division 1 encounter at Lynnsport on a very wet Thursday evening.

The first quarter saw both teams battling hard, with King’s Lynn putting up a good fight early on. Their energy kept the game tight, but Lions 2 managed to sneak ahead 10-8 by the end of the low scoring quarter. Things shifted quickly at the start of the second quarter, with the late arrival of N. Oziernoi, K. Lao, and D. Damyanov, who added a burst of energy and depth to the Lions lineup.

The second quarter was where Lions 2 began to take control. S. Getley dominated in the paint, while A. Allen and X. Feng were a force on the boards. Outscoring King's Lynn 21-7, the Lions' physicality and experience started to show. Despite their efforts, the young King's Lynn squad struggled to find answers, and the score stood at 31-15 at halftime.

In the third quarter, King’s Lynn tried to mount a response but couldn't break down the Lions' solid defense. Lions 2 outscored them 16-9, with Oziernoi orchestrating the offense from the point guard position, while Lao’s shooting and Getley’s inside presence continued to make things difficult for their opponents.

The final quarter followed a similar pattern, with Norwich Lions 2 adding another 20 points to King's Lynn’s 13. Damyanov and Li proved effective on offense, while Navickis and Oziernoi continued to play hard defense from the front, ensuring the Lions remained firmly in control. By the final whistle, Lions 2 had secured a comfortable 67-37 win.

Top Scorers:

S. Getley: 16 points

K. Lao: 11 points

Victor Li: 10 points

D. Damyanov: 10 points

In the end, the Lions’ physicality were simply too much for King’s Lynn to handle. While King's Lynn showed promise with their young squad, the strength of Lions 2 ensured they dominated the game from the second quarter onwards.
